A progressive, Jewish community which promotes Living Judaism – modern in its approach while traditional and historic in its appeal. Our values are rooted in T’filah (prayer), Limmud (education), Kiruv (community) and Tikkun Olam (repair of the world). At services, which are conducted in a mix of Hebrew and English to aid inclusivity, families sit and worship together. We provide a comprehensive Jewish education for all ages in addition to a wide range of social, cultural and Israel oriented activities. Our Youth groups are part of RSY-Netzer and Netzer Olami with many of our youngsters attending RSY-Netzer camps, Israel tours and the Shnat gap year programme in Israel.

CHAIRMEN: Diane Goldman | Liz Jacoby | Ros Shenderey
COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER: Deidre Cline
WIZOuk is celebrating its centenary this year.
WIZO’s ethos is underpinned by four key imperatives to nurture, to care, to educate and to empower. Through WIZO’s wide-ranging social welfare and educational initiatives Israel’s most vulnerable will become self-sufficient contributing citizens helping to build a stronger Israel for us all.
WIZOUK supports 100 projects in Israel ranging from nurseries, schools, youth villages, vocational training programmes, women’s shelters for the victims of domestic violence to community centres. These projects typify the social welfare challenges that face Israeli society including integration of immigrant groups, empowerment programmes for vulnerable groups and Bar and Batmitzvah.
WIZO in Leeds has full-time community fundraisers with the aim of building awareness of WIZO’s life-changing work. We are really keen for more volunteers to build fundraising groups in Leeds and the surrounding areas.
